Kahveci has just returned from a similar injury, after being out for three months.
“Nihat complained of soreness during the league game at (Sporting) Gijon on 27th September,” explained Villarreal’s chief medical officer Juan Albors.
“He needs rest and unfortunately will be sidelined for between four and six weeks, during which time we will try various forms of physio to speed up his recovery.
“If none of these work, we can’t rule out the possibility of an operation.”
