Wolves ace Kightly delighted with Man Utd link

He told The Sun: “It’s great to be linked with any Premiership club because it means you are playing well. But you’ve just got to put it to the back of your mind. What will be, will be.

“I got a fair few texts from family and friends when the Manchester United link came up.

“But I’m more than happy at Wolves. My aim is to try and get them back to where they belong – in the Premiership.

“Wolves are a massive club with a great stadium, a nice training ground and facilities and a great fan base.

“It’s a Premiership club in the making and it’s about time we were back there. Promotion is a task we can achieve.

“I couldn’t have wished for things to go any better.

“Things went really well for me in the Conference but, thankfully, Mick took a chance on me and, hopefully, I’m repaying him.

“The boys have given me a lot of respect. Before, I felt privileged to be here but now I feel like I deserve to be here.

“But I’m not silly. I know football is a mad game and things can turn around quickly.”
