Possible January transfers

Other transfers likely to go through this month could include Steven N’Zonzi, who seems set to move to Chelsea from Blackburn. Blackburn need money desperately and Junior Hoilett could move if Tottenham come in with an offer for the player. Another team looking to sell may be Everton, probably selling Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, and maybe Jack Rodwell too, to Chelsea. Rodwell’s sale would bring in funds to make a move for forwards that they desperately need. Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora are both out of favour at Fulham and could leave this month. The latter would be a probable target for Everton.

David Beckham may be the highest profile transfer, and the LA Galaxy man could well complete a move to Paris St Germain sooner rather than later. But the most protracted move could be that of Carlos Tevez. Talks have begun with AC Milan and Juventus could yet come in to try and scupper the move .Paris St Germain, trying to raise their profile, could also make a move for the player. But it seems more likely that Man City are using the Italian teams as bait to try and raise the value of the player. Tevez has intelligently reduced his transfer value, forcing Man City’s hand. But the club’s greed could yet force his value up if they can start a bidding war with Italian sides for his signature. But Tevez is probably most likely to return back to Corinthians in Brazil. They need a landmark name and the Brazilian champions are one of the most valuable football brands in the world. With the fifth largest shirt sponsorship in the world, and a new individual TV rights package in Brazil from this year, they have even more cash than before and could easily afford Tevez.

Nicolas Gaitan could be on the move to Manchester United, though the deal may not finally be complete until the summer. The Portuguese has long been linked with United and seems the ideal player to give them the creativity in midfield they have missed at times of late.

Milos Krasic of Juventus is another who may leave in the summer. Juve seem to have been touting him around Europe as they look to offload the winger, and Chelsea are known to be interested in him. A move to Stamford Bridge seems a likely prospect for the talented Serb. Aly Cissokho and Yoann Gourcuff could both leave Lyon, with the latter known to be admired by Arsene Wenger, who may want a creative midfielder. Lucho Gonzalez could depart Marseille, as will Andre Pierre Gignac most likely. Gignac could move to Newcastle if Modibo Maiga’s move to the club doesn’t go through from Sochaux.

Leaving England may be Didier Drogba, possibly following Anelka to China, though equally plausibly he may go to Russia. Florent Malouda is wanted by PSG possibly, another team interested in Drogba according to reports. Malouda has previously said he’d like to play in Brazil, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see a big team there coming in for him. Arsenal will also likely bring in a left back, maybe Wayne Bridge or Cissokho, and both Marouane Chamakh and Andrei Arshavin could leave. Bordeaux are known to want Chamakh back, and Arshavin could also return to a former club, Zenit, or Anzhi Makhachkala. That could pave the way for Arsenal to bring in Montpellier forward Olivier Giroud, the top scorer in France.
