Manchester United are reportedly already looking to sign a backup striker for expected new signing Rasmus Hojlund.

United have joined Lazio, Roma and Nottingham Forest in keeping tabs on Santos striker Marcos Leonardo, according to Calciomercato.

The 20-year-old Santos star would reportedly be available for around £13million.

Reports have suggested that Roma were leading the race to sign the youngster, but there has been a setback in the negotiations with Santos, as the Brazilian side are reluctant to accept their payment terms.

Il Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Roma would not be prepared to start paying the fee before 2024.
