Valencia has been out of action after breaking his ankle and suffering ligament damage during United’s goalless draw with Rangers at Old Trafford in September.
Ferguson said: “Antonio is training very well now.
“He is involved on the contact side and the signs are very encouraging. We expect him to be ready by the Arsenal [or Leyton Orient] cup tie.”
