Valencia boss admits Getafe were the better side

Emery admitted his side lacked intensity in the game.

“We know what it takes to win these games, but the game did not go as we wanted it to, because we did not have the intensity to compete with them,” Emery admitted afterwards to AS.

“Getting in front was important, but we conceded straight away and were level again. In the second half we came out looking to turn things around, but Getafe won it fairly.

“We know that in a game it’s 11 against 11. In theory, Valencia should do better, but Getafe were better on many fronts today.

“The responsibility is mine.We need to turn things around to put the team where we want. We have the energy to prepare for the next game and I am responsible for the leadership of this team.”
